ArgExpats is a free list of people expats in Buenos Aires have had good experiences with, kept by the community. Using it means you are fine with what is below. It is short, and it is written to be read.
What this is
A directory and a meetups catalog, put together by volunteers from what people in the ArgExpats community say. It costs nothing and it comes as-is. Entries can be out of date, incomplete or simply wrong, and the site can be offline without notice.
A listing is a recommendation, not an endorsement
Somebody is here because a member of the community had a good experience with them. That is the whole bar. Nobody is professionally vetted: we do not check licences, qualifications, registration, insurance, criminal records or references, and we do not test anyone's work.
Do your own checks before you hand over money, keys, documents or your health. Ask for the credential that matters to you. Treat the directory as a warm introduction, not a certificate.
We are not part of your arrangement
Whatever you agree with someone you found here — the job, the price, the schedule, the refund — is between the two of you. ArgExpats is not a party to it, takes no commission and no payment, and is not responsible for the work done, the money paid or anything that goes wrong. The same goes for meetups and groups: they are other people's events, at other people's venues, on other people's platforms.
To the extent the law allows, the ArgExpats team is not liable for any loss that comes out of using the site or dealing with someone found through it.
Reviews are opinions
Every review is one person's experience, in their own words. We do not verify them, and a star average is just the arithmetic of the ratings left so far. Weigh them the way you would weigh a stranger's opinion, because that is what they are.
What not to post
If you leave a review, recommend a contact or add a meetup, keep it honest and keep it civil. Do not post:
- abuse, harassment, threats, or attacks on someone's race, religion, nationality, gender or sexuality;
- things you know to be untrue, or accusations you cannot stand behind;
- someone else's private information — home address, documents, family details — or a person's contact details without their agreement;
- invented listings, fake reviews, reviews of your own business, or advertising dressed up as a recommendation.
Post it and it gets deleted. Anything you write, you are responsible for.
We can remove anything
The team can edit, hide or delete any listing, review or meetup at any time, with or without a reason, and without telling you first. This is a small community project, not a platform with an appeals process — if something is causing harm it comes down and we work it out afterwards.
Contact details are for personal use
Phone numbers are here so that one person can message one professional about actual work. That is why they sit behind a tap instead of sitting in the page.
Do not scrape the site, harvest the numbers, export them in bulk, feed them into a marketing list or a CRM, cold-message the people on it, resell them, or point automated tools at any of it. The people listed agreed to be findable by expats who need them — not to be on a call list.
If you are the one listed
- Ask us for your private claim link and you can keep your own entry current.
- A change of number waits for a person to confirm it before it goes live — that is what stops a listing being hijacked.
- Want off the site? Say so and your listing is removed. No reason needed.
Privacy
What the site stores and what it does not is set out on the privacy page. The short version: reading is anonymous, writing needs a Google sign-in, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Changes, and getting hold of us
These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did. Anything at all — a correction, a removal, a complaint, a question: [email protected].
